Born as a private competitor of State-owned Olympic Airways (OA), Aegean gradually gained market positions until replacing OA as Greece major airline and eventually acquiring what remained of fomer flag carrier. With the entry into service of the first A320neo at the beginning of 2020, Aegean introduced a new livery.
