Level was established in 2017 by IAG Group as a long-haul, low-cost airline capable to take on the likes of Norwegian on flights across the Atlantic with a fleet of Airbus A330s in a high density configuration. A short- to medium-haul branch with bases in Amsterdam and Vienna was also established under the name of Level Europe, but the latter entered insolvency in June 2020 and was terminated. Long-haul services operated by Iberia under the Level brand from Barcelona were unaffected by this decision (Photo Wikimedia Commons / Daniel Luis Gómez Adenis)
