Pegasus Airlines is Turkey’s second largest carrier operating to over 100 destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. A few years ago it started a fleet conversion from Boeing to Airbus product, which is now bringing brand-new A321neos. Notwithstanding the modern and very young fleet, the airline has a very poor safety record, with three major accidents in the last three years, two (of which one with fatalities) in 2020 alone. The site airlineratings.com attributes to Pegasus 2 out of 7 stars, among the poorest safety ratings in Europe (Photo Wikimedia Commons / Alf van Beem)
