Rwandair is the national airline of Rwanda and is based at Kigali International airport (KGL). It inaugurated long-haul flights to Europe in 2017 and its network now spans Africa, Europe, the Middle East and reaches as far as China (Guangzhou). In February 2020, Gulf giant carrier Qatar Airways bought 49% of the airline’s capital, injecting money into an airline which has always operated making losses.
