Volotea calls itself the “small cities airline of Europe”, connecting point-to-point destinations without flights by full-service or other major low-cost carriers. Its name originates from the Spanish verb “revolotear,” meaning “to fly around.” It has major markets, and most of its bases, in Spain, France, Italy and Greece. In 2018 it started a conversion of the fleet from the B717-200 to the A319-100 (Photo Wikimedia Commons / Eric Salard)
