May 8, 2021 / One year late because of the Covid pandemic, on September 2 Air Senegal (HC) will commence flights from its Dakar (DSS) base to the USA. Tickets are already on sale to New York (JFK) and Wahington (IAD) on the airline’s website.
Twice weekly rotations will be operated by 3-class Airbus A330-900, with departures from Dakar on Thursdays and Sundays at 1.30am and arrival in JFK at 6.00; from the Big Apple, flight HC407 will leave at 8.30 to land at 10.00 at IAD. HC408 is set to depart IAD at 20.25 to land in JFK at 21.55 and continue on to DSS at 23.55 with arrival due at 12.55 the following day.
The carrier’s A330-900 feature 32 seats in Business Class with a 1+2+1 cross-section, 21 in Premium Economy (2+3+2) and 237 in Economy. According to planespotters.net, HC’s fleet currently comprises 2 Airbus A330-900s, 2 Airbus A321-200s, 2 Airbus A319-100s and 2 ATR 72-600s. Airbus A220s deliveries are expected within the end of this year. Network includes some 15 destinations in north-west Africa plus Paris (CDG), Lyon (LYS), Barcelona (BCN) and Milan (MXP) in Europe.
