May 21, 2020 / Air France-KLM has confirmed today the final withdrawal from service of all its 9 Airbus A380. Initially planned for 2022, the phase out of the Superjumbo has been anticipated as a consequence of long-term fall of traffic demand caused by the Covid pandemic. The impact of the Airbus A380 phase-out write down is estimated at 500 million euros and will be booked in the second quarter of 2020 as a non-current cost/expenses. The A380s will be replaced by new generation aircraft, including Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner, whose deliveries are ongoing. (Photo AirFrance)
