London Gatwick reopens its North Terminal to six airlines from June 15

News

June 10, 2020 / London Gatwick (LGW) will reopen its North Terminal as several carriers resume flights from the south London airport. The North Terminal closed at the beginning of April after demand plummeted as a result of the Covid crisis. From Monday June 15, operating hours will be 6am-10pm, with Easyjet (U2), Wizz Air (W6), Ryanair (FR), Belavia (B2), Vueling (VY) and Blue Island (SI) all resuming services.

The airport has introduced a number of new health and safety measures as it prepares to ramp up operations. These include a requirement for all passengers and staff to wear face masks within its terminal buildings, the addition of hand sanitising stations including some touch-free models, frequent deep cleaning of common-use surfaces, screens added throughout the terminals, including at check-in and gate areas, social distancing measures at check-in, security, gates and departure hall seating, as well as in restaurants, bars and shops.
