Wizz Air opens new base in Milan: from Malpensa 20 new routes to 11 Countries

May 29, 2020 / Wizz Air (W6) will open a new base in Milan Malpensa airport (MXP) from July 20 with 20 new services to 11 countries and five Airbus A321 aircraft. Destinations planned from Italy’s second most important airport include London Luton, Eindhoven, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Mahon, Tenerife, Valencia, Athens, Corfu, Rhodes, Santorini, Thessaloniki, Zakhintos, Reykjavík, Lisbon, Porto, Pristina, Marrakech, Tallin and Tel Aviv.

“Our mission is to bring Milan closer to the world and the world closer to Milan. We do so by committing ourselves to opening new routes and increasing existing ones, allowing people to travel freely and safely” said a spokeperson of the airline in an official note

Milan Malpensa already boost a huge Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) operation, being the main base outside the UK for easyjet, which is also the main carrier at the airport in point of passenger traffic and daily movements. (Photo Wikimedia Commons/Anna Zvereva)
