Air Senegal S.A. in the third incarnation of the national airline. It commenced operations in May 2018 and in the almost two years before the Covid pandemic outbroke it developed a consistent western Africa network, while flying long-haul from its hub in Dakar to Paris and Marseille in France and Barcelona in Spain. Plans were to add Milan, London and several other European destinations in the spring of 2020 with Airbus A321 fitted with lie-flat seats in Business Class, before launching across the Atlantic to the US (New York and Washington) within to the end of the year. The pandemic froze all network additions plus fleet enlargement where two more A330-900 (or A350-900) and a number of A220-300 had been planned to arrive starting in 2021 (Photo Wikimedia Commons / Anna Zvereva)
